Separate a free Claude file analysis from Amazon report permissions, Quick Plus promotion terms, and the cost of recurring access.
Run the $0 experiment on a bounded file
Anthropic lists Claude Free at $0, with chat, files and connections subject to usage limits. Take a report an authorized person can export and make a small copy containing only fields needed for the question. Chat uploads and persistent project files have different lifetimes; choose the former for a one-off test unless your organization's policy calls for a retained reference.
Use arithmetic to test the conversation before asking for an interpretation. In a synthetic US seller example, ASIN-A has 4 units and USD 120 ordered sales; ASIN-B has 2 units and USD 80. Six units and USD 200 are the subtotals of those selected rows. The original filtered report should show the same subtotal. Neither that $200 nor a free account tells you all-account sales, margin or return on ads.
A small file also tests fit. If the decision needs a year's worth of detailed orders, a tiny sample cannot answer it. If one weekly ASIN question is enough, there is no reason to buy more usage before reconciling the sample.
These are two synthetic rows from one US seller report for one week: ASIN-A, 4 units, USD 120 ordered sales; ASIN-B, 2 units, USD 80 ordered sales. Show the USD subtotal and formula. State what you cannot infer about all-account sales, profit or ad return. Do not fill missing fields.
Access is not included in the price tag
The person supplying a Seller Central report needs permission to retrieve it. Brand Analytics has additional eligibility and roles; vendor data and Amazon Ads have their own authorization paths. A Claude subscription cannot fix a missing SP-API role. Amazon's Reports API documentation describes the actual report requests and access gates, not a blanket entitlement for anyone who owns a seller account.
A reduced file is a low-cost test of the question, not a substitute for a recurring connection. 1stPage’s Connect MCP page supplies the current remote server URL and OAuth flow for a supported Claude client. Keep the CSV subtotal as a check if you later ask 1stPage’s seller_analytics tool for the same period. Claude Free currently allows one remote custom connector, subject to its usage limits. That does not establish a 1stPage sign-in or the Amazon report permissions the question needs.
A US marketplace export and a Canadian export with the same account label do not become one currency-neutral dataset when attached to a chat. If the chosen report has no ASIN rows, it cannot identify the ASIN responsible for a change. If it has sales but no ad clicks, it cannot calculate CPC. Find the missing report or narrow the question; do not pay for a larger model in the hope that it will reconstruct private columns.
Do not mistake Quick Plus for a Claude plan
Amazon's September 23, 2026 announcement says its Selling Partner plugin is launching with Amazon Quick and is in beta with Claude for eligible sellers in US stores. Amazon says primary account holders globally may sign up for a free 12-month Quick Plus subscription through December 31, 2026 and designate two additional co-workers for a free year. Quick Plus is Amazon's offer. It is not a complimentary Claude subscription, and the promotion does not make every seller eligible for the Claude beta.
The plugin's Seller Assistant recommendations and permitted actions have approval and audit boundaries described by Amazon. That claim comes from the announcement, not from a test of a particular seller account. Before making it part of a workflow, check the current terms, eligibility and allowed actions. A CSV uploaded to Claude remains a separate, static route.
Find the point at which manual becomes costly
One export can be cheap in dollars and expensive in repeated labor. A weekly review needs someone to download the new period, keep filters consistent, check the marketplace and reconcile the figures. Paid Claude usage may allow more work, but it does not do that extraction or grant Amazon rights. 1stPage lists MCP on its 20-day trial and paid plans. Check the current plan terms, credits and channel allowance on the 1stPage Pricing page. That offer is separate from Claude’s plan and from Amazon report eligibility; a trial does not create missing Brand Analytics or Ads permissions.
If the same ASIN review keeps returning, specify the week boundary, row grain and refresh owner. Then decide whether an authorized recurring source is worth its costs. For a one-off answer, keep the upload manual. That is a decision about work, not a vote for the most expensive plan.
A free upload still handles business data
Make a reduced copy without customer names, addresses, order IDs or credentials unless an approved purpose requires those fields. SKU and ASIN can also be sensitive under company policy. Review the organization's Claude rules and Anthropic's current privacy and retention terms before uploading; deleting the local copy does not settle service-side retention.
Write down the report title, marketplace, dates, filtered subtotal and approval for sharing outside the chat. If Claude's $200 does not match your source, inspect row filters and duplicates before spending money on a subscription. Sources and boundaries
Check the current permissions and report definitions before acting on an answer. Example prompts are questions, not live account results.
